Enhanced mobile technology for a busy workforce on the move
Leading clothing retailer Joules has been in Market Harborough since the 1980’s. In the past year the company has experienced huge growth from an increased mail order and web presence, coupled with their nationwide retail stores. Joules came to Rutland Communications knowing that communications technology would be a key area for development as the company develops, particularly as international travel continues to factor heavily in their operation. In addition, the ability to maintain contact with exhibition staff, merchandisers, store managers and the brand development team plays a massive part in the success of the company.
We identified the need for staff to receive ‘email on the move’ and this was resolved with the introduction of a Blackberry Professional Solution. A mixture of Blackberry Curve & Pearl models were issued to key staff ensuring that all relevant contacts, email, calendar and tasks are updated remotely whether in the UK or internationally.
In addition, 3g data cards were issued to enable laptop users connectivity to the office server and also to allow for the exhibition units to update on stock levels etc remotely.
The new technology was so successful, in order to keep their entire team in touch, Joules increased their mobile fleet from 27 users to over 47 users. By utilising the Vodafone network, we were able to migrate the handsets from the Orange network, install and activate a Blackberry Professional Solution for data, give each user a new mobile phone and install hands free car kits, all for free.
